It\u2019s not just to look good aesthetically; nutritionists and doctors always emphasize increasing it and lowering fat levels because it is also very important to&nbsp;<strong>PREVENT<\/strong>&nbsp;fractures, injuries, for example in athletes, and not only in older adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With muscle mass loss, there is also a decrease in strength. This reduction in muscle mass and strength increases the risk of accidents, falls, and fractures, potentially leading to disability or dependence on others to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oafifoundation.com\/en\/sarcopenia-no-dejes-que-tus-musculos\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.oafifoundation.com\/sarcopenia-no-dejes-que-tus-musculos\/\"><strong>Why does sarcopenia appear?<\/strong>?<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BECAUSE OF AGING:<\/strong>\u00a0The aging process begins between 25 to 30 years of age, becoming more pronounced after 50, but <strong>it can accelerate due to lifestyle<\/strong> and other health conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>POOR NUTRITION<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chronic and degenerative diseases<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tuinfosalud.com\/articulos\/enfermedades-respiratorias\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">respiratory diseaseses<\/a>, osteoarticular conditions, cancer, among others, as well as degenerative diseases like Alzheimer\u2019s, sclerosis, limit mobility and physical activity in those affected, impacting muscle development and strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is therefore necessary to implement special strategies to prevent muscle mass loss in these individuals, which could later limit their mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to recover muscle mass?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For those whose muscle loss is not caused by complicated health conditions, <strong>there are various therapeutic strategies available<\/strong> to mitigate its effects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Maintain proper nutrition and hydration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is essential to consume foods that supply the body with necessary nutrients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These foods should contain <strong>proteins from lean meats<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/tuinfosalud.com\/articulos\/beneficios-de-las-vitaminas\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/tuinfosalud.com\/articulos\/beneficios-de-las-vitaminas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vitamins<\/a>, <strong>minerals, and polyunsaturated fatty acids<\/strong>. Combined with a tendency to become more sedentary, this can lead to muscle deterioration, compromised mobility, longer recovery times from illnesses, and loss of independence.
