There is a progressive aging of the population, which will lead to an increase in the demand for social and health care in Spain. Therefore, it is necessary to address this situation effectively and efficiently, and propose measures aimed at maintaining and improving the quality of life of the elderly.

The objective of the second meeting was to analyze the health situation in relation to the progressive aging of the Spanish population and its consequences, identify the present and future challenges that must be faced, and propose measures that allow for an effective and sustainable solution.

The objective of the first meeting was to measure the socioeconomic and health consequences that demographic evolution is generating in Spain and to anticipate what type of measures would be necessary to adopt to preserve the health of the elderly and improve their quality of life.
