“Health Literacy and Quality of Life of Osteoarthritis Patients.”

As part of the research that we carry out at OAFI, and among many other projects of which we are already talking to you regularly, we present a new one. This is the survey “Health Literacy and Quality of Life of Osteoarthritis Patients“, which aims to determine whether the level of health literacy of people suffering from osteoarthritis has an impact on their quality of life. For example, if the patient believes that the doctor gives him/her information that is easy to understand or, on the contrary, if he/she does not understand it well; and the level of quality of life of this patient is measured to determine if there is a relationship between both parameters. In other words, is there a relationship between a person’s health literacy and his or her quality of life?

Dr. Manel Santiñá, Physician, Researcher at IDIBAPS, Past President and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society for Quality Care (SECA) and a great friend and collaborator of OAFI, is conducting this survey, together with Nina Martínez, R&D Director of the Foundation.
