Send us a photo of your Summer:
Osteoarthritis is a serious disease that causes pain and directly affects the mobility and autonomy of those who suffer from it, making it difficult to carry out the simplest tasks. However, one of the non-pharmacological measures to alleviate its symptoms is to move, to exercise. Whether it is walking, swimming, cycling, doing it gently or moderately is good for the joints.
From Osteoarthritis Foundation International (OAFI), we encourage you not to stay at home this summer. Make the most of the good weather and take your joints for a walk on the beach, in the mountains or in the most beautiful corners of your city, swim in the sea or in the pool and reward yourself with a delicious meal at a beach bar or on the terrace of your favourite restaurant surrounded by your family and friends.
And show us! Send us photos of your summer moments and show us that we are stronger than osteoarthritis. That it does not stop us. That we know how to make the most of the good days and that we take care of our joints!
What a great initiative! How do I send you my photos?
You can send them using:
And, what will you do with my photos?
At the end of summer, we will select the best photos we have received and we will make a video with them. The video will be published on OAFI’s website and social networks with the aim of raising awareness of osteoarthritis in the society. We will give a voice to the people who suffer from it and it will serve as an example for people who live with osteoarthritis to adopt lifestyle habits that improve their joint health. Can you help us to achieve this?
